Purple flower

A picture I took of a plant while at Descanso Gardens with my parents when they visited in June. Ryan helped me with some Photoshop techniques to get it closer to the color it was when I snapped it. I love that camera though!!

A couple of nights ago I had a dream that Hayley Mills came into the shop where I work to pick up her new stationary. Nothing spectacular happened, she was really nice and I remember thinking, “Wow, I figured that Hayley Mills would be nice, but MAN, she is NICE!” And that’s really the extent of the dream. The only weird part is that I woke up multiple times during the night and my prevailing first thought was, “I’m going to have to write about that tomorrow on my blog!”, which in the light of day (or even the dark of night, for that matter) makes no sense as 1) I almost NEVER update my blog, 2) I haven’t thought about Hayley Mills in years, probably since the last time that I saw The Parent Trap, and 3) why in the HELL am I having dreams about Hayley Mills (whom I can’t refer to as anyone but Hayley Mills, with both names- it’s a package deal) and why would I want to expose that weirdo part of me to the world? And for the next couple of days that rationale held until I realized that I was still thinking about that damned dream. And Hayley Mills.

.

Why? Anyone? Seriously, it’s a little weird.

For those of you playing along, (all 1 of you- hi honey!), an update has been woefully missing. (Woefully I say! Tremble with woe!) So, here it is: I (and my loving, supportive boyfriend- hi again sweetcheeks!) have made the monumental and emotionally depleting move to L.A. We’ve actually been here for almost a year. Our emotional bank account is slowly being refilled; we’ve made some friends, I’ve completed 1 year of school, he has a fantastic job that lets him work from home and practice his ping pong skills and BONUS! we can go to the beach whenever we damn well please- even if it’s 50 degrees outside, which believe me, out here in California is considered winter. Jealous? That’s right, B-E-A-C-H!! Yea! (I can’t type that without also typing BI-YATCH! They both go so well together!)

So yeah, still finding our L.A. “sea legs,” but so worth the work. We love being here and the awesome opportunities that are here: lots to see, lots to do. But, yeah, we like it and y’know what we also like? Beer. We like beer. (Which as a side note is a big deal for sweety cakes there, the recalcitrant beer-non drinker.) And speaking of beer, we’re going to go see one of our new friends, Tapon- our friendly purveyor of alcoholic goodly-ness at the corner mart.

Till next time, gentle reader.
